Community Service Events

Grand Rising Members and Followers,


We are writing to request your support for several upcoming community events requesting our volunteer services. Your participation would be invaluable in ensuring the well-being of participants. 

We have been asked to provide medical support, will be supporting literacy, and will be mentoring at the following events September-December 2025. 

* **Share the joy of literacy* ** Bring a book (various grade and reading levels, to the September meeting**
* **Susan G. Komen Walk** October 4th, 2025, from 6:30 AM to 11:00 AM.
* **American Heart Association Walk ** October 25, 2025, from 6:30 AM to 11:00 
 
Houston Heart Walk
* **CompassRN Perioperative Nurse Day at the Innovations Lab:** October 25th, 2025, from noon to 2:30 PM. The lab is located at the corner of Holcombe and Almeda Rd 
* **Alzheimer’s Walk**: 06:30-0800 or until 11:00 (for those not attending the symposium): November 8, 2025-same day as our Ethical Consideration Symposium

* ** Ethical Considerations in Nursing Symposium* ** November 08, 2025 0630-1:00 p.m. (students and chapter member volunteers needed) 
 
* **Thanksgiving Day Parade** (Tentative): November 27, 2025
 
* **Annual Toy Drive/Book Reading/Beary Perioperative Experience** 2nd Week in December 
 
Your willingness to contribute your time and expertise would be greatly appreciated. Further details regarding specific roles and responsibilities will be shared with those who will be attending the events.
