June Officer Induction Meeting

Posted almost 5 years ago

Good morning AORN Greater Houston Chapter 4407,

It is our prayer that your family and you have remained safe despite the horrible weather we experienced yesterday. Please be mindful that hurricane season is right around the corner and begins on Monday 6/1/20.  We hope everyone will be reminded to review and update disaster plans with your employer and make provisions and plans for your family as well.

The officers and I truly appreciate those of you who have openly expressed concerns with the use of Cisco Webex. Please rest assured that those learning curves have been addressed and next month's officer induction will proceed with that enhanced knowledge, starting promptly at 4:30 pm. I will be logged on at 4:00 pm to ensure everything is uploaded and ready to go. If you would like to participate in a soundcheck, please feel free to log in with me at 4:00 to test your end of the system. Please keep in mind that this is a new process for us and we appreciate your continued patience and support as we work through the kinks together!

We also appreciate Houston Methodist for allowing us to utilize ciscowebex free of charge to our chapter. Similar capabilities via Zoom would cost us a minimum of $19.99 per month, a cost we are attempting to steer away from at this time. Over the next couple of weeks, please be on the lookout for a chapter needs assessment from Daphny Peneza, our incoming President. If you would prefer chapter meetings to switched to zoom, please indicate such as a suggestion on the next needs assessment. We will take that into consideration. We are happy to switch to Zoom if the majority of you desire such and feel it better suits chapter needs. Our ultimate goal is to ensure we are meeting the needs of our members to the best of our ability.

Thank you each for everything you do daily to ensure safe, quality care in the PeriOperative arena. We sincerely hope you will choose to join us on June 9, 2020 at 4:30 pm. Please simply click the join the meeting now ( in blue ) in the individual email you received or dial in by phone and put in the access code. There is no password required. Please let us know prior to 4:30 pm if you have any issues logging or calling in so we can assist you. Feel free to text me, DeShon,  at (832) 785-1108. I will be happy to assist you.

Yours in Nursing,

DeShon

2019-2020 President
