Happy Perioperative Nurses Week!
Greetings and Salutations to each of you amazing Greater Houston PeriOperative Nurses, students, and visiting friends of the AORN GH Pacemaker. It is that time of the year again when we begin to anticipate the festivities of the Thanksgiving and Christmas Holiday Seasons. As we begin to acknowledge and recognize the many things that we are thankful and most grateful for, during this month of November, I encourage each of you to donate your time, service, your can goods, and non-perishable food items to the Houston Food Bank. Continue to serve and share your journey and Good Will to others who may be less fortunate and truly in greater need to receive food, shelter and perhaps just good cheer.
What greater time is there than now to recognize and celebrate each other as during PeriOperative Nurses Week. This year Perioperative Nurses Week is celebrated starting November 10-16, 2019. Nurses have been designated as the most trusted profession of nurturers, intellectuals, comforters, educators who are also known for advocating, caring and putting others before themselves. As the Carriers of Light and Angels behind the surgical masks, PeriOperative Nurses continue to attain life long learning to become better equipped and empowered to serve the masses and each other. This month of November, each of you has the opportunity to attend and bring guests to our 2019 AORN GH “Trafficking, Opioids, and Forensics in the City" Fall Symposium. It will be November 16, 2019, at Memorial Hermann Hospital (TMC) Texas Medical Center in the Conference Center and Atrium from 07:00 am - 1:00 pm. I look forward to seeing each of you at the Symposium as we close out our PeriOperative Nurses Week Celebrations with great information, good nutrition, an Amazing Vendor Fair and also receive 6.0 continuing education hours. Register to attend by going online to register on our AORN GREATER HOUSTON website. Looking forward to seeing many of you at the Chapter meeting and at the Fall Symposium!
